Availability requests and confirmation
Submitting the website form or sending an email is a request for availability, not a confirmed booking. No payment is collected through the request form. A booking exists only after Maison Cat has reviewed the request, confirmed suitability, dates, care details and final price, and any required payment has been received.
Services and minimum periods
Stay With Me is $100 per day per cat with a 7-day minimum. Care At Your Home is $45 per hour per cat with a 7-day minimum booking period; the requested schedule is reviewed before a custom estimate is confirmed. Priority Care is urgent boarding or a last-minute Stay With Me request beginning within 72 hours. It is $150 per day per cat, has a 3-day minimum, requires round-trip transportation, and is subject to availability and intake review. Priority Care is not an emergency veterinary service.
Estimates, discounts and transportation
Website estimates use the dates, cat count, selected services and location supplied. Care and Special Diet Care are charged for each cat. Standard Stay With Me care may receive one long-stay discount: 10% at 2 weeks, 20% at 3 weeks or 30% at 4 or more weeks. Priority Care receives no long-stay discount. Each listed transportation amount covers one round trip—pickup at the beginning and drop-off at the end—and is charged once per booking. Transportation is not discounted. Rates for unlisted areas are confirmed manually. Maison Cat confirms the final price before service is arranged.
Payment
Payment instructions are provided only after a request is accepted. Priority Care requires full payment to confirm the booking. Standard booking payment timing will be included with the written confirmation. The website does not collect card or bank information.
Cancellation and refunds
There is no cancellation fee before a booking is confirmed and paid. For confirmed standard bookings, cancellation 14 or more days before care begins receives a full refund; cancellation 7–13 days before care begins receives a 50% refund; cancellation less than 7 days before care begins, a no-show, or an early return is non-refundable. Priority Care is non-refundable once accepted. If Maison Cat cancels, payments for unprovided service are fully refunded. Emergencies may be considered case by case. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable British Columbia or Canadian law.
Care information and suitability
You must provide accurate, current information about each cat’s routine, food, behaviour, health, medication and care needs before service begins. Maison Cat may decline or stop care when material information was withheld or when care cannot be provided safely. Any meet-and-greet, intake requirements and written care instructions must be completed as agreed.
Home access and keys
For in-home care, a key, smart-lock code or lockbox access is exchanged or confirmed at the meet-and-greet. Keys must not be hidden outside. You must provide current alarm instructions and a local backup contact. Lost access, lockouts, replacement keys or additional trips caused by incomplete or incorrect access information may be billed separately at the actual or agreed cost.
Medication
Routine oral or topical medication may be administered only when agreed in advance. Medication must be supplied in its original labelled packaging with clear written instructions and enough medication for the booking plus a reasonable reserve. Maison Cat will not change a dose without veterinary direction and will not force administration when doing so would be unsafe or seriously distressing. Injections, complex treatment or specialized medical care require separate review and may be declined.
Veterinary emergencies
Before care begins, you must provide your regular veterinarian, a preferred or nearest emergency clinic, and a reachable local emergency contact. Maison Cat will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. If delay could endanger the cat, you authorize immediate transport and necessary assessment or treatment up to CAD $1,000 when you cannot be reached, subject to a signed authorization collected before care. You remain responsible for veterinary fees, transportation and related costs. Available records and receipts will be supplied.
Questions
Questions about these policies can be sent to hello@maisoncat.ca. These plain-language terms describe Maison Cat’s operating policies and may be updated as the service develops. Professional legal review is still recommended.
